Although the book alignes to the Utah core curriculum the dull format, the lack of colors and pictures and the poor selection of topics makes this resource not appealing for teachers and students.
The vocabulary is not adecuate for middle and high school students for it use of sexual vocabulary and making offesive references to people with disabilities in some of the readings. In some of the texts they also steriotype the language spoken by Afroamericans.
The book only provides historical text but without any context making the very difficult for students to make connections with previous learning experiences.
