Strengths: Comprehensive except for a section on fruits. The text is intimidating and the print is micro-sized. Concerns regarding reading level for a high school student. Study guide does accompanied text and worksheets are exacting. Diversity is not apparent as there are no graphics of humans.

There are 36 chapters with a web registration id per text. Chapters are text intensive, with key words being highlighted with minimal pictures or graphics. At the beginning of the chapter guidelines~are given as to what students should be able to do after reading. At the end of the chapter there are key terms for review and discussion questinos.

Resources avaliable to the instructor include: test bank, PowerPoint presentation, image gallery~and instructors manual.

This book is college level and more appropriate for a teacher resource.
