Evaluation

Overall, a great resource for teaching medical terminology. The book was easy to understand, easy to read, easy for students to be able to follow along.

The chapters are divided by body system. It would be better arranged with individual chapters that have an assortment of words and then have the students put those chapters into systematic units. The sorting method is another teaching tool for medical terminology. However, learning words that all have to do with the same body system makes~a great deal of sense. If this textbook became a standard issue book, it would be easy to be comfortable teaching from it.

Content score 55/65. The Utah Core Standards for medical terminology includes several medical abbreviations. This text does~not come close to covering all those abbrev. Due to the vast amount of words in the medical field, no text will be able to teach every single word included in the State Core.One would have to compare the words taught in the textbook with the words from the State Core and a
