Overall a good resource with strong design and ease of use. While there were many features where it was clear how to assign for students, other portions of the site were not so clear as to how to make a student accountable (motivated) to watch the video or complete the activity without too much grading on the teacher’s end. The textbook presentation was very good- easy to read and scroll through, divided into sections but also can be accessed by page number. The text itself is very dry and would not capture the imagination of a 15 year old ninth or tenth grader for very long. The text needs a great deal more of personalization and interesting details to add to the content. However, the pictures, graphs, videos and maps were more interesting and are sprinkled throughout the text. The online resource provides ample assessment and study resources for the teacher and student including downloadable maps and custom exams. Teachers may find this resource difficult to incorporate assignments from the Pearson platform into their school’s grading platform and as such, the resource may be more complex then what a teacher is looking for. This is a strong independent learning resource for students who want to take an online course.
