This resource contains some material unsuitable for grade level. Some text contain clear political bias and these text would detract from the learning process. These texts are not aligned with community standards. Achieving the Utah Core Standards would be difficult with this resource since some controversial nonfiction texts are in opposition to community standards. Due to the sensitive nature of these articles, this book receives a "no recommendation" from this committee.

Texts are provided in varying levels to allow for differentiation. The arrangement of topics and texts is logical and allows for skill building and progression. In addition, there are many supports for ELLs. The system is clear and makes sense. These materials can be used in a whole-class or small-group setting. Individual assignments can also be assigned easily. Each unit provides a variety of readings as well as activities that are timely and adaptable for the classroom. These materials can be adapted in a variety of settings. These materials can be adapted in a variety of settings. Pacing guides, editable rubrics for assignments, and suggested responses for those assignments were all available and editable. Within each unit, activities are provided, along with a culminating activity. In addition, there is a Resources section that gives teachers the ability to create quizzes and assignments. There is a bank of multiple choice and essay questions, along with the opportunity for teachers to create their own. The system allows for teachers to create and administer the quizzes on their system. It is unclear whether this system syncs with Canvas.
