Biotechnology: Science for the New Millenium is a solid resource for the Biotechnology classroom. Most of the curriculum for the state of Utah is covered, though there are considerable gaps when the book is used alone. As a stand alone text, it requires a fair amount of supplementation to complete the CTE core requirements. Due to the gaps, the textbook alone is recommended as a limited resource.

The issue of gaps is easily resolved by pairing it with the lab manual, the gaps are filled and two resources are recommended as a a primary resource. Between the two resources there are several activities and labs for key concepts in the curriculum. The combination of the two rounds out the curriculum and is highly recommended.
