Easy for Me Reading is a teacher resource that includes lessons on phonics and sight word recognition. These materials were reviewed and not recommended due to having some red flags such as: Lack of explicit instruction Instruction encourages students to memorize whole words, guess at words in context, or use picture clues rather than decoding the word first High-frequency words with regularly spelled sound-symbol correspondences are taught as whole-word units, often as stand-alone “sight words” to be memorized Advanced word study (Grades 2-5), no instruction in multisyllabic word decoding strategies and/or morphology to support word recognition is evident
