It seemed like a wonderful curriculum supplement or potential credit recovery tool. The graphics, video, and user experience were all interactive and well-designed. There wasn’t deliberate alignment with the science of reading, and it might not be the best tool for kids who are struggling and needing extra help. Not a lot of scaffolding within the program for students who weren’t mastering the material. Recommend for regular ed English class or credit recovery. Not for kids needing additional help learning to read or master foundational reading skills.

One of the concerns with all online curriculum is how to help students who don't understand the first time. On many of the activities that ask formative assessment questions, students can just select "Show Correct Answer" if they miss the question and see the correct response. Certainly, the teacher of record will have opportunities to help with misunderstandings, but I don't see that in the program. I do like the pacing and the asking of formative questions. I just worry what happens when a student doesn't get it. I would like to see a redirect to more learning opportunities. | ||||||
