This book covers the 4th grade state standards for social studies. Some sections are done in great detail, while other, smaller topics are glossed over or ignored. This text is challenging to read from a layout point of view. There are also some significant concerns with bias or the author's agenda that should be considered.

In the current environment where an apologetic interpretation of Native American relationships is the norm, this text goes too far. Page 20, for example, on the Ute Tribe, is both inaccurate and overly biased.
