Level 4 – Story 1 – The Emperor’s Goats is a wonderful story about a Roman boy and targets the ‘oa’ as in goat, long ‘oo’ as in moon, ‘ew’ in few, ‘ui’ in bruise, ‘ue’ in blue, ‘u consonant e’ in tune, ‘oe’ in shoe and silent letters and sounds.
It features; ‘r’ controlled vowels, and the Stories Main Idea/Theme is: I Will Be Honest When It Is Hard To Be Honest.
The activities include; the Cursive Alphabet, reading “The Emperor’s Goats” in cursive writing, poetry, rhymes with ‘o’ in goat and ‘ight’ in fight
and ending ‘le’ as in giggle. It also includes writing about your own honesty, careful word discrimination, following directions telling ‘not’ to do something, tracing cursive sentences, review of consonant blends, Greek meanings of prefixes, pronouns or antecedents that stand for other words, vocabulary study directions and fun memory and brainy games.
Activities include; review of ‘ink, ank, onk, unk, ing, ang, ung, s, sh’, review of ‘ie’ in pie and ‘y’ as in by, multiple meanings, who or what did the action, comparing ‘’then and now’ and before and after comprehension.
Science is all about goats. Home Fun tackles the idea of; Expectation of honesty from other people. It also have a Weekly Work Chart embedded in the activities.
