Level 2 – Story 1 – Where are the Tags?, begins with more advanced learning for the 1st grader and teaches about the consonant digraphs ‘wh and ph’. The stories Main Idea/Theme: Awareness of Laws That Protect Pets.

Where are the Tags teaches about listening for the ‘wh’ sound through text and peotry. It continues with beginning consonant digraphs, ‘qu’ words, personal possessives and introduces the Multiple Choice Vocabulary Practice Test, modeled after national testing format.

It emphasizes writing in a complete sentence, categorizing, e.g., who, what, why, where. This story stirs the child’s imagination through art and writing and shows how to coordinate both.

Tongue Twisters are continued for the enjoyment of all and shows how to make a dictionary for home use.

National Testing Questions composition is discussed in Home Fun and Parent Insights and works with; multiple choice, true/false, matching,
completion or cloze procedure or fill in the blank along with essay questions.
