Bridge to Reading Grade 3 provides teachers with everything they need to deliver effective, engaging instruction, including digital and print access to teacher’s guides, texts and passages, student practice pages, multi-sensory learning tools, and assessments. The goal of Bridge to Reading for Grade 3 is to equip students to be accurate and fluent readers, while building an understanding of word parts and meaning. The English language is a morphophonemic language. While many words are spelled based on sounds, many other words are spelled based on meaning. Instruction in each lesson targets both phonics and morphology, while building fluency and vocabulary.

The daily lessons provide students with word study instruction through multisyllabic word reading and explicit instruction in reading fluency. Each daily lesson is broken down into an I Do, We Do, You Do scaffolding model. Each week of instruction also includes opportunities for assessment, differentiation, and multiple opportunities for independent practice.
