Inquiry Journeys- Grade 1 includes three Inquiry Units: Families Near and Far, our Special Location, and Civic Engagement. Students explore and understand family, community, and citizenship. They will compare and contrast family characteristics, investigate traditions, and understand the importance of needs and wants. Emphasis is placed on recognizing diversity, collaborating with peers, and understanding community roles and responsibilities. Through discussions, collaborative projects, and hands-on activities, students will develop a foundational understanding of their role in their family, community, and as citizens.
