This consumable workbook includes independent decoding, fluency, and comprehension practice. The Teacher’s Guide (sold separately) provides explicit instructions for all workbook pages. In Reinforcing Lessons, students consistently apply, reinforce, and master new concepts by reading extensive decodable fiction and nonfiction passages. These unillustrated reading passages help students focus directly on decoding strategies for word recognition and meaning while comprehension is developed through visualization and other comprehension skills. After reading and answering questions about these passages, students complete a skill-specific graphic organizer in the workbook. After each Introductory and Reinforcing Lesson, students complete one or more Independent Practice activities working on decoding, fluency, and comprehension.
