The Writing Road to Reading (WRTR) program integrates four essential elements: comprehensive spelling, writing, reading curricula, and THE SPALDING METHOD®. The WRTR is the book behind the program that introduces students to the most fundamental pieces of the language. It’s an educational philosophy and methodology consisting of time-tested principles of learning. Its structured literacy approach provides them the tools to decode higher-level texts, becoming excellent analyzers, writers, and communicators.
The Writing Road to Reading textbook is divided into two parts: “Lessons, procedures and Why This Method Works,” which describes the content and methodology of the program; and “Instructional Materials,” for use in lesson planning and instruction.
