This course will provide support for the Spanish DLI teachers to implement the DLI program by providing ongoing DLI training on updated practices and resources.

This course will provide support for the Spanish DLI teachers to implement the DLI program by providing ongoing DLI training on updated practices and resources.

This training is sequentially aligned to the Professional Growth Trajectory and therefore provides differentiated content for “new” and “experienced” teachers.

New Teachers: During the Winter PL sessions, new teachers will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding and skills about the two instructional strategies presented in the Fall: Extended conversations, and three core instructional strategies. In addition, the teachers will be introduced to the framework for planning culture lessons and a review of the “student portfolio.”

Experienced Teachers: will further their understanding of the Counterbalance methodology through explicit modeling and collaborative development of effective activities across the four faces of the methodology. Teachers will also be introduced to a new instructional protocol for implementing the use of writing rubric. In addition, teachers will engage in an activity to reinforce the framework for teaching culture effectively and will review the STAMP national data.
