This workshop aims to assist Spanish World Language and DLI instructors by providing support in the following areas: Days 1 & 2 will focus on teaching methodology in the Spanish language classroom with a focus on interactions. We will focus on student-teacher interactions, classroom questions, corrective feedback, student-student interactions, and activities with specific proficiency-based goals in mind.
Days 3 & 4 will focus on Spanish Culture in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s: In this workshop

This workshop aims to assist Spanish World Language and DLI instructors by providing support in the following areas: Days 1 & 2 will focus on teaching methodology in the Spanish language classroom with a focus on interactions. We will focus on student-teacher interactions, classroom questions, corrective feedback, student-student interactions, and activities with specific proficiency-based goals in mind.
Days 3 & 4 will focus on Spanish Culture in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s: In this workshop we will explore the cultural changes experienced in Spain in the post-war period. We will consider economic conditions, as well as changes at work, school and in the home. We will also look at changes in cultural production, including the importance of comic books and film in the formation of young people. We will look briefly at aesthetic movements of the period, including realism, Catholic existentialism, post-war surrealism and the self-reflection that characterizes much of the work of the Generation of the 50s. The workshop will be conducted in Spanish.
