This professional learning addresses the pedagogical needs of both Bridge High School and University Spanish Bridge instructors. -As a result of this course participants will gain the knowledge, skills and dispositions to demonstrate understanding of the following competencies: -Improve Spanish Bridge student outcomes in schools by building on the educators’ current knowledge and pedagogical strategies and models, as well as encouraging them to implement research-based best practices. -Create trusting relationships that build rapport and foster collaboration among Spanish Bridge Program instructors and coordinators, and district DLI coordinators. -Use language that is clear, inclusive, non-threatening, and objective (eg. data conversations, goal driven). -Engagement of Spanish Bridge instructors by asking effective probing and reflective questions regarding student achievement and teacher response to data, to help instructors to reflect on their practice. -Enhanced effective listening and communication strategies (eg. self-awareness of own biases, supportive presence/body language, positive language, and tone).
