Through many collaborative conversations and research we have designed a PD model that we believe will foster success for student AT skills and teacher AT confidence and instruction. This is a self-paced curriculum that covers basic Internet navigation, working with text, and navigating the world of braille displays. The curriculum is nicely laid out for you to follow along with and there are some well done practice activities as well as data collection sheets for you to utilize. If you need a thought partner on other activities or how to implement different ideas for screen reader instruction, Quintin Williams can meet with you on a consultation basis to provide ideas and suggestions for additional activities and concept development strategies to enhance the Eye-T program.

We will go over paper settings and different translation levels, as well as many other settings specific to Duxbury software. We will also cover installing embosser drivers and ensuring that Duxbury is pointed to the correct embosser so you can provide quality braille to students.

We will cover adding a wireless network and accessing built-in web radio and podcasts and so much more. They will then learn to teach their students to use correct cursor placement while using a screen reader as well as how to edit text by selecting, copying, cutting, and pasting. In these three sessions, we will cover ideas on how to best serve Multiple Disability students that might be low vision, CVI, or completely without sight. There will be lesson theme ideas given and also solutions from the ALMC discussed as ways to always be prepped for sessions with learners who fall under this profile. 3D printing will be discussed during the last session so folks will understand how to leverage local maker spaces in a pinch.
