This course will provide continued support for the Spanish DLI teachers to implement the Science, Antología and Literacy programs, as well as how to implement new resources and how to evaluate language proficiency.

The Science session will focus on the 3D curricular model and the 5E instructional model. Specifically, teachers will learn scaffolding strategies to support DLI students to explore a scientific phenomenon with targeted linguistic proficiency and content rigor.

During the Antología session, the cultural components of the instructional plan will be modeled, and teachers will have the opportunity to collaborate with their colleagues to generate ideas for the application of these components.

The proficiency session will provide teachers the opportunity to apply their knowledge of proficiency to analyze language samples from DLI students in their schools.

Teachers will be introduced to the critical legally binding requirements of Special Ed services in a DLI context.

K-1 grade Teachers, new writing and Estrellita resources and the digital Benchmark thematic library will be introduced with recommended strategies to use these new resources to support the writing and reading processes.
2 grade Teachers, new writing and Lunita resources and the digital Benchmark thematic library will be introduced with recommended strategies to use these new resources to support the writing and reading processes.
3-6 garde Teachers, new writing resources and the digital Benchmark thematic library will be introduced with recommended strategies to use these new resources to support the writing and reading processes.
7-8 Grade Teachers will be the opportunity to gain a better understanding of culture week and its protocols. The culture is the 4th week in every unit. Whereas the 9th Grade Teachers will have an opportunity to focus on learning and refining AP specific strategies. Experienced Teachers will also be introduced to the new protocols and routines of the Evaluation week. The Evaluation week is the 5th week of instruction in every unit. In addition, new teachers will have the opportunity to reinforce their implementation of the protocols and routines for weeks 1-3.
