Special Notes:

The Utah DLI assurances stipulate that DLI teachers will implement the curriculum articulated by each partner language and that the resources used to teach this curriculum will be the ones adopted by the State DLI Team. In order to support teachers in meeting these expectations, the Spanish Team provides regular professional opportunities to support teachers. This course is one of those opportunities this year supporting teachers with the implementation of a newly adopted literacy program.
The design reflects the key professional learnings needs that the teachers identified in a survey at the end of last year, after unveiling the program. The following feedback informed the design of this professional learning opportunity:

  1. In-person learning
  2. Modeling of the instructional practices
  3. Overview of resources, where to find them and how to use them
  4. Support in teaching strategies to increase the students’ linguistic accuracy.
