The purpose of this training is to provide instruction to K-12 classroom educators and teacher librarians on how to embed Constitutional, information and media literacy skills in ELA and Social Studies curriculum. This instruction will provide examples to educators on the opportunities for each student to actively engage in civic life. Each training session will provide context on how the Constitution impacts daily life and covers a topic in the book, Developing Digital Detectives by Jennifer L

The purpose of this training is to provide instruction to K-12 classroom educators and teacher librarians on how to embed Constitutional, information and media literacy skills in ELA and Social Studies curriculum. This instruction will provide examples to educators on the opportunities for each student to actively engage in civic life. Each training session will provide context on how the Constitution impacts daily life and covers a topic in the book, Developing Digital Detectives by Jennifer LaGarde and Darren Hudgins. We plan to invite the authors to expound on their work in person or virtually with each cohort. In order for educators to complete the challenges they will submit evidence of application in their curriculum. We plan to gather data on student learning using pre/post assessment and student and parent feedback through a digital survey. The training will be offered for 3 years, with a new cohort of teachers each year.
