Audience: This training is designed for Kindergarten ACCESS for ELLs Test Administrators.

Description: During this training, test administrators will explore the unique test design of Kindergarten ACCESS for ELLs. Participants will learn to administer and score the assessment.

Participants will be able to:
• Discuss the features of ACCESS for ELLs Kindergarten
• Describe the training requirements and preparation
• Identify how the WIDA Accessibility and Accommodations Framework applies to Kindergarten ACCESS for ELLs

Audience: This training is designed for Special Education Teachers, ELL Teachers, and Program Leaders who will be involved in administering Alternate ACCESS for ELLs.

Description: The Alternate ACCESS for ELLs is an assessment of English language proficiency (ELP) for students in Grades 1-12 who are classified as English language learners (ELLs) and who have significant cognitive disabilities that prevent their meaningful participation in the ACCESS for ELLs assessment. The test is based on Alternate Model Performance Indicators (AMPIs), which provide expectations of what students should be able to process and produce at a given Alternate English Language Proficiency level. Participants will work collaboratively to strengthen their understanding
of test administration and scoring, to understand the underpinnings of the assessment, and to become aware of the resources available after the training.

Participants will be able to:
• Explain the Alternate ACCESS for ELLs test participation criteria and
administration procedures
• Practice administering the test with Alternate ACCESS for ELLs test materials

Audience: This training is designed for ACCESS for ELLs Grades 1-12 Online Test Administrators.

Description: During this training, test administrators explore how the WIDA Standards and Assessment System is connected to the ACCESS for ELLs Online assessment. Participants will learn to administer the online test to students. All participants must have computers or tablets and an internet connection to access sample items and the WIDA Assessment Management System.

Participants will be able to:
• Discuss the features of ACCESS for ELLs Online
• Describe the training requirements and preparation
• Explain the technology basics for ACCESS for ELLs
• Identify the different aspects of online test administration such as:
o Domain test details
o Accessibility and accommodations
o Monitoring the test administration
o Preparing students for the online test platform
• Describe the process of test materials management
• Identify the WIDA AMS responsibilities for test administrators

Audience: This workshop is designed for all educators of multilingual learners. It provides a great opportunity for teams who work with the same language learners to collaborate.

Description: This two-day workshop provides educators with a fresh look at how to engage multilingual learners in rigorous content area learning with a balance of challenge and support. The purpose of the workshop is to encourage educators to consider a dynamic set of classroom practices that support multilingual students as they move toward increasing independence and expertise in grade-level content. Participants will explore how rigorous, well-sequenced curriculum within the content of meaningful experiences contributes to rich classroom interactions that mediate learning. Topics that educators will explore are a) valuing students' resources for learning, b) developing a strong community of learners, and c) engaging students in rigorous curriculum.

Participants will be able to:
• Develop an understanding of scaffolding practices based on prior knowledge, new learning, and shared experience
• Build awareness of macro- and micro-scaffolding practices that apprentice students into language use for content area learning
o Consider how students’ resources can support collaborative learning
o Recognize the importance of establishing a collaborative community of learners that moves forward and upward together
o Examine ways to engage students in exploring language use for content learning

Audience: This training is designed for test administrators of the WIDA Screener for Kindergarten.

Description: Participants will work collaboratively to strengthen their understanding of how to administer and score the assessment by working with assessment materials to practice both handling the materials and scoring different domains of the WIDA Screener for Kindergarten. Participants will build interrater reliability using the writing rubric.

Participants will be able to:
• Explain the purpose and background of the WIDA Screener for Kindergarten
• Explore the logistics for preparing to administer the WIDA Screener for Kindergarten
• Investigate the WIDA Screener for Kindergarten materials
• Identify the available accommodations for the WIDA Screener for Kindergarten
• Examine and practice the administration and scoring procedures for all domains as applicable

Audience: This training is designed for Test Administrators and District Test Coordinators of WIDA Screener Online in Grades 1-12.

Description: During this training, participants will work collaboratively to strengthen their understanding of the administration of WIDA Screener Online. This includes learning to administer the online assessment to students. Particular attention will be given to developing inter-rater reliability when scoring the speaking and writing domains. Participants will utilize a multitude of practice items to be scored with the scoring scales.

NOTE: Participants will not be practicing WIDA AMS in this training.

Participants will be able to:
• Explain the purpose and background of the WIDA Screener
• Explain assessing English Language Proficiency Levels
• Use the scoring scale to score speaking samples
• Use the scoring scale to score writing samples
• Examine the online administration procedures for Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing
• Discover the available accommodations on the WIDA Screener
• Locate Screener-specific WIDA AMS functions and supports
• Explore the logistics for preparing to administer
