Teachers will learn specific, concrete, and actionable techniques to improve instruction and increase student achievement. Teachers will meet as professional learning communities to plan, implement, and assess curriculum goals, and objectives to improve curriculum planning/instruction/assessments that will lead to increased student achievement. They will also learn to incorporate appropriate instructional technologies into their curriculum.

2023-24 Grading from the Inside Out Book Club

Teachers will collaboratively read and discuss the book, Grading from the Inside Out by Tom Schimmer, focusing on school-wide goals and values in order to deepen their understanding and effective application of standards-based grading, share implementation strategies, and increase student success and engagement in the classroom. Teachers who choose to pursue USBE credit will create, implement, and report on a specific and actionable plan to apply a concept of their choosing from the book/discussion in their classroom.

The class will meet monthly from August through May. This course is available for either USBE credit OR Relicensure hours, depending on completion of assignments.

The class will be taught by LynDee Winterton and Maryann Moss
