The Utah Science with Engineering Education (SEEd) Standards are new for everyone and especially new for high school science teachers. The changes in the standards are much more than just new content. The SEEd standards provide a higher expectation for students with a focus on engaging in science and engineering practices, making sense of the natural world around them, and solving real-world problems. This two-day professional learning will give participants a vision of what the SEEd standards could look like in their classroom and help them to identify the small shifts they can make in their instruction to become even better at what they do. Participants will engage in learning with both the teacher and student perspective while they engage in learning tasks to investigate phenomena and break down all that is packed into the SEEd Standards. Come enjoy doing science and learning about resources that are there to help you implement the new SEEd Standards next school year.

General Session is a Prerequisite Course for all Secondary Science Teachers who teach students in grades 6 through 12.
