This course is designed to train building level mentors on how to best support and work to develop new teachers as the enter the profession and work through the Induction and Mentoring Program in Tooele County School District (NEIT - New Educator Induction Training). Through these trainings, mentors will learn about what beginning teachers need and how to provide support. This course is designed to train building level mentors on how to best support and work to develop new teachers as the enter the profession and work through the Induction and Mentoring Program in Tooele County School District (NEIT - New Educator Induction Training). Through these trainings, mentors will learn about what beginning teachers need and how to provide support. They will learn to sharpen their mentoring skills identified in the Roles and Competencies of a Mentor. Mentors will also be given multiple resources to be an effective mentor to improve instruction and student learning. Mentors will also work through CANVAS platform to complete mentor assignments as well as logs of interactions with new teachers.
