BOTVIN LIFESKILLS TRAINING (LST): Underage Drinking Prevention Program. Is a required training (under 53G-10-406), for those educators who have been identified by their LEA (District/Charter School) to implement the Botvin LifeSkills curriculum. A Botvin trainer will provide training from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch break (on your own). Each participant will receive a copy of the LST curriculum. Participants will receive 7 re-licensure points for attending a full-day training.rnrn

The training workshop plays an important role in enhancing the confidence and skill capacity of participants, resulting in optimal implementation of the LST program. It will also increase the effectiveness of the program and assist providers to develop implementation strategies.rnrnSTIPENDS: For educators who participate in a full-day training there is a $150 stipend available. If participants are off contract, they will receive the stipend by mail to the address listed in CACTUS. (Please verify your address is correct in CACTUS, we have had many returned for this reason.) If participants are on contract, the district will receive a reimbursement for substitute expenses, ONLY if the participant required a substitute. If you are on contract and do not require a substitute, there will be no stipend available.rnrnHOTEL: If participants are assigned to schools over 60 miles away from the training facility USBE will cover the cost of the hotel for the night prior to the training.
