Materials represent a comprehensive approach to fine arts instruction that is age appropriate in its content and is current and well-researched It also provides excellent hands on experiences and supporting materials that are tied to the state core~standards.
Materials meet the requirements of state laws and accepted technical standards. Directions are clear and understandable to both teacher and students. A strong use of vocabulary is incorporated into support materials. There are also valuable reference materials tied to each lesson. Multidisciplinary connections are exceptionally strong.
Contains a variety of assessments, formative and summative, that align with Utah core art strands and appropriately meet their objectives.
While these materials are highly recommended, and the Strands, Create, Respond and Connect are well represented, the "Present” strand is largely absent from student and teacher materials. (Standards 3.V.P.1–3) Students will analyze, interpret, refine, and select artistic work for presentation. They will convey meaning in the manner in which the art is presented.
