The Co-Teaching Cohort for Secondary English Language Arts (ELA) is a course to support effective co-teaching strategies while ensuring access for all learners in grades 6-10 to Utah’s grade level ELA Core Standards. The yearlong experience focuses on implementing best practices in co-delivered instruction, and co-accountability for student learning. The Co-Teaching Cohort for Secondary English Language Arts (ELA) is a course to support effective co-teaching strategies while ensuring access for all learners in grades 6-10 to Utah’s grade level ELA Core Standards. The yearlong experience focuses on implementing best practices in co-delivered instruction, and co-accountability for student learning. A book study of GRIT by Angela Duckworth or Mindset by Carol Dweck will also be included. Participation in this cohort requires a team of teachers, one English Language Arts teacher and special education teacher to attend five days of professional learning. Two days will be in the summer before school starts and the remaining three days will be held periodically throughout the school year. Credit: USBE Credit-4
